Glossary of some terms used in cement and concrete science

To open the Glossary pdf file, either click here or on the Download button below. If you open the file and then decide to save it, click on the 'disk' icon in the toolbar of your Acrobat Reader.





By downloading it to your PC, you can quickly refer to it whenever you need to look up a term used in cement and concrete science. If you have either the pdf file itself, or a shortcut to it, on your desktop, it will always be readily available.

Many of the terms have links to relevant pages on this web site if you need more information than is given in the Glossary.

You will need Adobe Reader (the latest version is recommended, but at least Version 5) installed on your computer in order to open and read this Glossary. If you do not already have Adobe Reader installed on your PC, you can get it by using the link at the bottom of this page.

This Glossary is designed to be used on screen and cannot be printed.

PC: Right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As" or "Save File As." Then select where you want to save the file on your hard drive. Once you have saved the file, locate where you saved it, and double click to open.

Mac: Either right-click (two-button mouse) or Ctrl-click (single-button mouse), then select 'Download linked file'. The file will be downloaded to your desktop, or other location you have previously specified for downloads.
